As a devotee of the earliest blues and folk music, Bob Dylan honed his craft by absorbing all of the classics of those genres on which he could lay his hands. In his pre-internet era, that was no mean feat, with records of incredible rarity that were very difficult to find changing hands for what must have been relatively enormous sums at the time. Perhaps we forget how easy it is now as we have access to virtually any recording at the click of a mouse.
